The women: beneficiaries and reliable interlocutors |
|
|
In all the experiences of international cooperation with the LDCs, in all
geographical areas, women have demonstrated of being the most reliable
interlocutors to achieve the objectives of the intervention. The improvements
in the social-economic conditions of women are systematically transferred to
the whole family, contrarily to what happens when the beneficiaries are men.
Moreover, the improvement in the economic role of women facilitates the processes
of emancipation and recovery of dignity, especially within cultural contexts
entailing their social exclusion.

Valorization of the local entrepreneurial ideas |
|
The resources are exclusively granted with the aim of starting up or strengthening
economic activities that in the medium period can become sustainable and independent from
the contribution of FEM or other philanthropic agencies and can generate a stable income
for the beneficiaries.

Specialization by geographic area and economic sector |
|
We believe that in order to operate in an efficient way in the LDCs it is necessary to develop strong competences
and to known in depth the social and cultural contexts of the country of intervention.
That is why FEM's activities are focused on some specific geographic areas and on a limited numbers of economic
sectors.
