FEM has identified the areas in which to operate
depending on some characteristics and conditions, which must be present in order to guarantee successful interventions.
In particular FEM has decided to operate in countries where:

 |
|
there exists a situation of economic and social uneasiness
for the women, either in rural or in marginalized urban areas; |
|
|
|
a local network of contacts (ngos, civil society) supporting the interventions is available; |
|
|
|
there is a relatively stable political and financial system, which facilitates
investments and interventions aimed at supporting the micro enterprises |
|
Taking into account these criteria, FEM's actions are aimed at two specifics geo-political areas:

South America (particularly the
Andean Region)

India |
FEM has individuated other potential areas, which are at the moment a secondary priority: Central Asia, Central America, South East Asia.
