| Promoting the economic role of women |
The FEM's - women empowerment and microventures initiative
operates with the objective of helping poor communities in the LDCs (less
developed countries) to self develop, through cooperative programs primarily
directed to strengthen the economic role of the women and to improve their
access to services, resources and entrepreneurial opportunities.
FEM was established in 2006 by a group of people and Italian organizations with
pluriannual experience in the realization of innovative projects of economic
cooperation in the LDCs, mainly in the fields of fair trade, micro-credit and,
development of services to support micro-enterprises.

FEM Italia Onlus, - was funded in October 2006 in Trento thanks tothe initiative of three non profit institutions engaged in the economic development of the LDCs

Associazione Microfinanza e Sviluppo (Sarego - Vicenza e
Martignago - Trento): is an organization working since 2002 to promote
microcredit projects and initiatives of awareness raising, education and
research in the field of the microfinance. At the same time it publishes the
informative newsletter
Microfinanza.

Fondazione Maria Enrica
(Brescia): is a philanthropic institution working since 1999, whose mission is
to promote the economic development of poor women in the LDCs, as a mean to
facilitate progresses at social and communitarian levels.

Associazione Riflessi (Brescia): a volunteer organization
specialized in projects for development education and awareness raising.
